As we wait for God to reveal a new vision for our church, we learned last Sunday that there are three things we need:  prayer, the Holy Spirit, and to faithfully follow God’s will.

All three of those things are intertwined:  The practice of prayer forms us so that we abide in God and God abides in us.  The Holy Spirit guides and nurtures us, conforming our wills towards God.  And we can’t follow without either of the other two.

During the next two weeks, as we wait for God, as a congregation we will be joining our hearts and minds and lives together in prayer.  If you do nothing more, set aside a few minutes every day and simply pray “come, spirit, come.” But all are invited to spend longer periods of time in prayer, waiting and listening for God to speak.  To help guide us in this process, there will be daily reflections and scriptures here: Listening for God’s Vision.
